Outreach grants
On behalf of us all at St John’s, our capable and dedicated Outreach Committee continues to support local and global partners as we live out God’s mission in practical ways.
The following grants have been made this month.
Age Concern Wellington - $2,000 towards a touring exhibition in Wellington that shares and celebrates the lives of more than 20 centenarians – people who have lived through a century of change, challenge, faith and service.
Asthma New Zealand - $1,825 towards 500 asthma spacers to be distributed for free to children and whānau across the wider Wellington region who are experiencing barriers to accessing essential respiratory equipment.
BGI Wellington - $4,000 towards supporting the Te Whare Taiohi, an alternative educational pathway for young people in the Wellington region who have disengaged from mainstream schooling.
Wellington City Mission - $4,000 towards supporting the free Financial Mentoring service, aimed at providing clients with budgeting services, Total Money Management services and tailored financial guidance.
DCM & Presbyterian Support Central – $12,500 to each organisation, to support their essential work in serving our community. This funding was made possible by legacy funds donated by past parishioners.
PCANZ Global Mission - $2,500 towards the Presbyterian Church of Myanmar’s Women’s Programme delivering projects providing nurse aid training scholarships and education programmes.
These partnerships reflect St John’s commitment to caring for our city and sharing Christ’s hope in tangible ways.
