YOUTH GROUP
St John’s Youth Group caters for a diverse group of young people from across Wellington who want to have fun, make new friends, and develop their faith.
We split into two groups:
Abstract - for our Years 7 & 8
Thrive - for our Years 9-13
We meet on Fridays from 6.30-8.30 pm and Sunday mornings from 10 am. On Sundays we start in church and then leave for our youth programme partway through the service - unless it’s a Communion Sunday when we join the congregation a bit later during the service.
During the year we do all sorts of activities, including running a service occasionally and being part of our all-age services. There’s the opportunity to attend Easter Camp with a bunch of other youth from the Central Presbytery region. Our Friday sessions are quite social, with events such as movie, sports, and games nights. Our quiz nights are always fun - not to mention slightly competitive with a cool trophy for the winning team!
If music is more your thing, we have a Youth Band who play during our time together as well as occasionally during church services and other events (such as Whanau nights).
